Terms of Service

The engineering boundary. EEP is a calculation and documentation platform. It is not a substitute for a licensed Professional Engineer / Professional Engineer of Canada. All designs produced with EEP must be reviewed and sealed by a qualified, licensed engineer who has examined the inputs, applied professional judgment, and accepts professional responsibility for the result. EEP renders submittal-shaped output; the engineer of record makes the engineering decision.

1. Acceptance

By creating an account or using the platform, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, don't use the platform. Material changes are emailed to admins 30 days in advance; continued use after the effective date is acceptance of the new terms.

2. Your account

You must be at least 18 years old and authorised to enter into a contract.
Keep your credentials secret. You're responsible for activity under your account.
One account per individual. Organizations get team / org plans with multiple seats.
If you discover unauthorised use, notify us at [email protected] immediately.

3. Acceptable use

You may use EEP for any lawful electrical-engineering work. You may not:

Reverse-engineer the platform or its engines, or extract rule packs for redistribution.
Use the platform to produce designs you intend to misrepresent as sealed when they are not.
Use the platform on behalf of a third party in a way that breaches our subscription terms (e.g. running an unlicensed reseller operation).
Probe or attack the platform's security — coordinated disclosure is welcome, see security.html.
Upload any content that infringes others' intellectual-property or privacy rights.

4. Your content

Project data, equipment libraries, and notes you enter are yours. We claim no ownership and grant ourselves only the minimal licence necessary to operate the platform on your behalf (store, process, display back to you). We will never use your project data to train external models or sell to third parties.

5. Engineering disclaimer

EEP outputs are calculated results based on the inputs you provide and the rule packs encoded in the engines.
The platform makes a best-effort, code-cited interpretation of NEC 2023 and CEC 2024. Codes are amended; AHJ interpretations vary; project conditions matter. The engineer of record must verify the result is appropriate for the project.
Free-tier outputs are full-strength engineering results but limited to residential ≤ 300 m². Use of the free tier for commercial or industrial work is a breach of these terms.
EEP will never auto-stamp a design with your seal. Sealing is your act and your responsibility.

6. Subscriptions & billing

Plans renew monthly or annually as you select; cancellation takes effect at the next renewal date.
No refunds for partial periods, but downgrades take effect immediately and the unused balance is credited.
Late or failed payments may result in suspension after 14 days' notice; data is retained for 90 days after suspension.
Free Early Access pricing is honoured as long as it is in effect; we provide 60 days' notice before any pricing change applies to existing customers.

7. Availability & warranties

We target high availability (see status.html) but provide the platform "as-is" without express warranties beyond what is implied by applicable Canadian and US consumer-protection law. We do not warrant that the platform will be uninterrupted or error-free; we do warrant we will act in good faith to fix what we discover.

8. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, EEP's aggregate liability for any claim arising out of or related to the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim. We are not liable for indirect, consequential, or incidental damages — including loss of profit, loss of business, or damages arising from your design being non-compliant where the non-compliance was caused by inputs or judgments outside the platform.

9. Termination

You may cancel any time from account settings. We may suspend or terminate accounts for breach of these terms, with notice where practicable. Upon termination, you have 90 days of read-only access to export your data; thereafter, data is archived to cold storage and deleted upon written request.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Ontario, Canada, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. Disputes will be resolved in the courts of Ontario, subject to applicable mandatory consumer-protection rules of your jurisdiction of residence.

11. Changes

Material changes are emailed to admins 30 days before they take effect. Non-material changes (typos, clarifications) are made silently with a date update at the top.
